Delta level 2 up-date
Dear All,
It is good news indeed that we are able to move to Delta alert level 2 at 11.59pm tonight. It is one step closer to our being able to gather again as a community.
Today we received communication from Cardinal John advising that with the move into Delta alert level 2 the following instructions are to be followed by all parishes until Tuesday 21 September, at which point he will reconfirm arrangements.
- There are to be no public Masses or other liturgical events, or in-person parish gatherings in the Archdiocese.
- Churches are to be closed except for funerals, as it is difficult to monitor contact tracing, social distancing, mask wearing, and numbers.
- Funerals can take place with a maximum of 50 people in total, with the required social distancing, contact tracing, and wearing of masks. Funerals can take place in a church, and meetings with the family can take place with observance of the Level 2 requirements. The funeral director’s instructions must be followed.
We have also received instruction from the Archdiocese regarding the Catholic Centre advising that the Catholic Centre will continue to be closed for now to all visitors, with no meetings allowed in the building until further notice.
So, while tomorrow our Parish Secretary Frank will again be back working from the parish office during parish office hours, please do not call by and try to see him in person as this will not be possible.
Until we are able to meet again in person, may you continue to stay safe, get vaccinated, be enriched by new ways to spend time with God, cherish the extra time with family when/if you are able to meet, and look out for each other.
Debbie, Fr Ron & Frank
You and your parish working together.
