Trusting God Through Every Season

Palm Sunday begins with joy. Jesus enters Jerusalem and is welcomed with praise, with people waving palms and celebrating his arrival. Yet, as we know, this same journey leads us towards Good Friday. It reminds us how quickly things can change. Life can move from joy to sorrow, from success to struggle, from stability to uncertainty, often when we least expect it.

In our own lives, we have all experienced how quickly uncertainty can creep in throughout each day, plans can shift, and situations can turn in ways we did not expect. In these moments, it is not always easy to understand what is happening or why things unfold the way they do.

In the readings, we read that though Jesus was divine, he humbled himself fulfilling God’s will all the time with quiet strength and deep trust. Jesus let go of equality with God and remained faithful and obedient unto death even death on a cross. Yet this is not the end. God raised him up, showing us that what looks like defeat can become victory, and what feels like loss can lead to new life.

Palm Sunday also reminds us that God’s plan is always unfolding, even when we cannot see it. Jesus’ entry into Jerusalem fulfils what had been promised long before. It shows us that God keeps his promises, not always in the way we expect, but always with purpose and love. Through both the joyful moments and the painful ones, God is at work.

As we begin this Holy Week, we are invited to walk this journey with Jesus. God’s love remains steady. His promises remain true. Through every season, he continues to lead us towards hope and new life. Trust in God not only when things are going well, but also when faced with uncertainty.
