David McCaw

I was born and raised in Invercargill where I attended Convent and Marist Brothers’ schools. I’ve spent much of my working life in Wellington and have regarded the Cathedral as my home parish – although I live in the eastern suburbs.

I work at RNZ Concert, recording and broadcasting live music, and over the years I’ve made many memorable recordings in the superb acoustics of our beautiful Cathedral. As a shift-worker, working frequent weekends, our 7pm Mass has best suited my Sunday routines.

I’ve found contributing to our liturgies through the Proclaimer of the Word ministry has been very rewarding. Preparing for this role has encouraged me to explore the Sunday readings more deeply, helping me gain more insights into the scriptures.

I’ve only recently joined the Parish Pastoral Council and I’m beginning to understand the many issues and tasks facing our small leadership team – things I’ve previously taken for granted!

I look forward to serving our parish and contributing to the team through this role.
