All are welcome to join us for the Whakawatea dawn blessing by Mana Whenua for the reopening of the Cathedral.
We will gather at the Cathedral Doors at 5.20am, commencing 5.30am. Please ensure you RSVP to [email protected] especially for catering purposes.

A Lenten initiative of prayer and reconciliation celebrated around the world on the eve of the 4th Sunday of Lent.
’24 Hours for the Lord’ will begin with an Opening Liturgy at 5:30pm on Friday 28th March, continue through the night and end with the Vigil Mass at 5:30pm on Saturday 29th March.
Parishes and communities are invited to take the lead for an hour or two during these 24 hours. Everyone is welcome to visit the Cathedral and spend some time in prayer for peace, healing and hope in our broken world.


Jubilee of Youth
In this week throughout the world there have been celebrations of the Jubilee for Young People. Rome has had over 500,000 young adults and youth come to celebrate their faith.
The Cathedral hosts two celebrations this weekend.
Friday 8.00pm Mass with Archbishop Paul. Saturday 7.00pm XLT Praise & Worship. All are welcome.
Spring is here, and our late night Masses are continuing!
Young people are invited to our next late night Mass at 8pm on Friday, 10 October. Taking place at The Metropolitan Cathedral of the Sacred Heart (40 Hill Street, Thorndon in Wellington), everyone’s welcome.
If you’re able, please bring a plate of kai – there’ll be time for socialising after.
